The biggest and most valued dog show in Finland, Finnish Winner 2008 Show, was arranged in Helsinki last weekend. The judge, Mrs Kirsi Sainio (kennel Of Skyeline), had an honour to judge 17 skye terriers there. We had three juniors entered into this show. Our "Paris" Linum JudgmentOfParis won the junior class and gained Junior Winner 2008 title. He also ended up being 2nd best male of the day. Linum MythOfAphrodite aka "Kerttu" placed 2nd in the junior class in the field of seven junior bitches and 4th in the best bitch class. Linum Helen of Troy got Excellent in a quality evaluation.
Our Winner Show is a good place to meet friends. I gave many of you a Christmas card personally but for the others I like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2009! Let's keep the Skye Flag flying next year as well. Special thanks to Max Weckström for taking these beautiful photos.

Linum Adam's Creation aka "Kalle" is an Australian Champion now. He finished the championship gloriously by winning BEST EXHIBIT IN TERRIER GROUP (judge Mr Stan Rose, Australia) at Traralgon Kennel Club Show last weekend. We are so proud of you!

We arranged a puppy meeting this weekend at Arja's home. At present were Linum MythOf Aphrodite aka "Kerttu", Linum Cashmere Mafia aka "Maija", Linum Angora Attitude aka "Anna" and Linum Merino Maverick aka "Hessu". The puppies and Kerttu had really fun together playing in the snow. We also spent good time by talking about the dogs. Here are a few best shots of the day.

At Seinäjoki International Dog Show Linum Helen Of Troy aka "Helmi" earned her first certificate CAC and placed 2nd in the Best Bitch Class under the judge Bengt Nilsson, Sweden. Well done, Jaana and Helmi!

Most of our puppies have already left to their new homes. Have a lot of joy and happiness in your life "Maija" (Linum Cashmere Mafia), "Lyyli" (Linum Carnel Cabaret), "Hessu" (Linum Merino Maverick) and "Boris" (Linum Himalayan Yak)! There are still two very promising female puppies available. Linum Mohair Monopol (blue girl) and Linum Angora Attitude (green girl). Here are two new pictures of the girls.

At Helsinki Terrier Group Show Linum MythOf Aphrodite aka "Kerttu" gained her second certificate CAC under the judge Siv Jernhake, Sweden. Way to go, "Kerttu"!

Our puppies are six weeks old now. At the moment they are the most funny creatures. So happy and full of life. So innocent. There are still some puppies available to the loving homes.

Our puppies are five weeks old now. We spent this weekend by taking first posing pictures of the puppies. Photographing of dog puppies is very difficult as you all know. After several shots we got a few decent pictures.

Our puppies also have their own teddy bear. This huge Golden Retriever gives warmth and safety to them when "Sofie" is taking her beauty sleep.

Our puppies are three weeks old now. They have opened their eyes and started to walk around. The first meat balls were really good. And playing together is fun. Sofie is still going strong.

Our puppies are seven days old now. "Sofie" produces a plenty of milk and the puppies are happy and quiet. My job is to only weight them twice a day. Easy. In this picture "Sofie" is nursing her kids.

Our puppies are born. Three males, four bitches - all of them grey in colour. The puppies and the mother "Sofie" are all doing very well. This is "Sofie's" first litter and she has turned out to be a very caring and natural mother. I am proud of her.

Linum MythOfAphrodite aka "Kerttu" participated in Turku All Breed Show this weekend with a good success. Best Bitch-4 and a certificate CAC under the judge Stefan Sinko, Slovenia. "Kerttu" was beautifully handled by her owner Arja Kuortti.

In Finland we spend Midsummer Celebration at the end of June. This is the time of year when everyone travels to the countryside to their summer cottages. The city streets are empty and the whole country is closed. This year I decided to visit by my good friend Anu-Maarit Jokinen (kennel Skyeluck). Her three skye terriers, my three skye terriers - boys and girls - altogether in harmony. I am always a little bit surprised how well skye terriers get along with other dogs. Good food, good company, sauna - what else a woman can ask.

All of our youngsters were entered into the Forssa International Show. This was the first official show for "Paris" and "Kerttu". "Helmi" has already a couple of BOB Puppy wins in her paw from earlier shows. The day's results were BOB Puppy Linum Helen of Troy and BOS Puppy Linum JudgmentOfParis. Our "Sofie", Ch. Linum Venus de Milo, was mated with "Gershwin", Ch. Take It To Limit of Morningsky, last week. Puppies are expected to be born on week 31. They will most probably be grey coloured. More information about this upcoming litter can be found here.
Thank you very much, Lea, for the possibility to have "Gershwin" here by us. This was the most kind gesture and I appreciate it. "Gershwin" was the most beautiful tempered dog and a joy to care for.

We had a very nice weekend. On saturday we visited at Kirsi Sainio (Of Skyeline) to look at her skye terrier puppies. These super-tempered little raccoons really melt my heart.

On sunday we participated in Lahti Int Show with very good success. "Adalia", Ch. Linum La Gioconda, was 2nd Best Bitch and our "Sofie", Ch. Linum Venus de Milo, 3rd Best Bitch under the Judge Ann Christin Molin, Sweden.

At Jyväskylä Int Show our "Sofie", Ch. Linum Venus de Milo, placed 3rd in the Best Bitch class with an international certificate CACIB. This was already her second CACIB despite of her young age. The judge Marie-Luise Dobbelreiter came from Austria.

Our "Sofie", Fin Ch Linum Venus de Milo, was officially health examined today by a veterinarian Tuomas Illukka. Both of her knees and eyes are completely healthy. The father of our upcoming litter, Est Ch Take It To Limit of Morningsky, also has healthy knees and clear eyes.

What a day! Our young girls gained a double win at the international dog show of Tampere under the breed specialist Mr Otto Krcal, Austria (kennel Skyeomania). Linum La Gioconda, "Adalia", ended up also being Best of Breed. The icing of cake was Sofie's (Linum Venus de Milo) last certificate on her way to championship.

Our puppies are 4,5 months old now and very well settled in their new homes. "Helmi" went to live with her dad Ch. Finnsky Ziroc and two other skye terriers at Jaana and Pasi Hilakari in Kodisjoki. "Kerttu" moved very close to us in Paimio at Arja Kuortti and Elvis the corgi. Little "Paris" is still here with us. Last weekend we arrenged a puppy meeting. "Paris" and "Kerttu" had a wonderful time playing in the snow. "Helmi" only wondered who are these people in HER garden.

The results of the competitions; Skye of the year 2007, Newcomer of the Year 2007 and Veteran of the year 2007 are official now. Our young girls Ch. Linum La Gioconda and Linum Venus de Milo succeeded very well in the competition Newcomer of the year 2007 placing 2nd and 3rd. Congratulations to all of the winners!
